How to Cure Uterine Prolapse
How to Cure Uterine Prolapse
Analysis of Causes
Uterine prolapse, known as "Yin Ting"(阴挺) in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), is believed to be caused by factors such as general weakness in the body, excessive physical strain post-childbirth, overexertion from multiple pregnancies, and excessive sexual activity leading to kidney damage. These factors can result in Qi deficiency, sinking of Qi, instability of the Chong and Ren meridians, ultimately causing uterine prolapse.
Treatment Principles: Qi tonification, Qi elevation, Qi stabilization.
Treatment Methods
1.Prescription
Ti Ting Decoction(1-4 Treatment course)、Ba Zhen Decoction(2-6 Treatment course).
The choice between these formulas depends on the severity of the prolapse and the patient's actual situation .
2. Moxibustion
Key Acupoints: Baihui (GV20\百会), Qihai (CV6\气海), Weidao (GB28\维道), and Zi Gong Xue(EX-CA1子宫).
Rationale:Baihui, located at the top of the head, is a point on the Du meridian known for its ability to invigorate Yang Qi, raise Yang, and lift sunken conditions.
Qihai, as a point on the Ren meridian, supplements Qi, stabilizes the uterus, and regulates the Ren meridian.
Weidao, a point where the Shaoyang meridian intersects with the Dai meridian, helps maintain the Dai meridian and stabilize the uterus.
The Zi Gong xue itself, an extraordinary point outside the meridian system, is an effective point for treating uterine prolapse.
Tips:For patients with significant Qi deficiency, additional moxibustion on Shenque(CV8\神阙) and Guanyuan (CV4\关元) can be considered. If there are other gynecological conditions, moxibustion on the Sanyinjiao (SP6\三阴交) and Baliao (BL31\八髎) points is recommended.
Moxibustion should be performed once daily for 15-20 minutes.
3. Topical Cleansing
Prepare a solution with Chinese herbs such as Wumei (Mume\乌梅), Wubaizi (Chinese gall\五倍子), and Shechuangzi (common cnidium fruit\蛇床子). If there are symptoms of vaginal inflammation, swelling, and yellow water discharge, add Ku Shen (lightyellow sophora root\苦参), Huang Bai (amur cork-tree\黄柏), and Ku Fan (Alumen\枯矾).
Soak the herbs for 15 minutes, then bring them to a boil. While still hot, fumigate the affected area and clean it with the herbal solution. Gently reposition the prolapsed uterus and rest.
4. Massage
In the morning, vigorously pat Baihui (GV20) on the top of the head for 20 minutes (over 1,000 pats). This can help elevate Qi, promote the rise of Yang Qi, and stabilize Yang while lifting.
In the evening, soak the feet in hot water and massage the points Zhaohai (KI6\照海) and Shuiquan (KI5\水泉).
5. Precautions
1.During treatment, avoid engaging in strenuous physical activities and lifting heavy objects.
2.Maintain a relaxed and cheerful mood.
3.While taking herbal medicine, consume rice porridge, fish, eggs.
4.Avoid prolonged standing or squatting.
5.Rest in a supine position, preferably with elevated buttocks or feet during sleep.
6.Ensure regular and unobstructed bowel and bladder movements.
